Emily joined the Genesis family in 2021 as a housemother and also works at the Distribution Center. She graduated in 2021 with a bachelors degree in Psychology with minors in Family Studies, Intercultural Studies & Art from Houghton College. Emily loves to be a listening ear and a helping hand to our residents and clients. She stated that she can’t wait to watch Genesis grow and assist even more mothers and babies.

Kathleen started her career at Genesis in 1988 as a volunteer facilitating support groups for birth mothers. In 1992, she accepted the counselor position for Genesis. She is a graduate of Emmanuel College with a bachelors degree in Psycology and a k-8 teaching certificate. She also attained her masters degree in Counseling from Duquense University. Kathleen and her husband Frank have three grown children and two grandchildren. In her free time, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also volunteers with medical missions.

Helen joined the Genesis team in 2021. She has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Duquesne University. Helen has a long career of serving, caring for and training others. She has been a principle for a Christian School, has owned and operated her own daycare, has been a trainer and tester within several educational programs and has provided counseling to those in need. Helen stated that she loves working with people to help build their self-esteem. She has a passion to help people realize and fulfill their purpose.

Tina started at Genesis in 2022. Tina previously had a 30 year career as a counselor at a local hospital. She shared that she felt it was time to get out into the community and get involved. She especially looked for an opportunity where she can support women and mothers. Tina’s favorite quote is “being a mother is the toughest job you will ever love.”

Tiffany started with Genesis in December of 2022 at the Washington Center. She’s a graduate of California University of PA with a degree in Criminal Justice and is currently studying to become an addiction counselor. Tiffany is a passionate advocate for mental health and addiction, focusing on pregnant and new mothers. Having previously worked in the mental health field and the prison system, her desire to work one on one has grown significantly. She is looking forward to learning and growing at Genesis.

Ana joined Genesis in Oct 2022. She has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Public Administration from Salem University. Ana loves to advocate for children and families. She has 23 years of experience as a social worker for adoption, foster care and kinship care with the child welfare system. She is bilingual (English & Spanish) and recently relocated to Pittsburgh from Massachusetts. Ana is excited about her new position at Genesis and looks forward to learning and growing as she continues to advocate for families and begins to educate the community concerning the adoption program at Genesis.
